Arma 3: Apex Release Date Confirmed

Bohemia Interactive have announced that their newest Arma 3 expansion, named “Apex”, will be launching on July 11th. The news came by way of the PC Gaming Show and was one of the highlights of that particular E3 showcase. As well as a brand new 100 KM map players can now experience new weapons and vehicles as well as a new cooperative campaign. Bohemia’s new expansion will be focused on the small Archipelago of Tanoa, a hodge-podge of ‘distinct’ islands that will force players to evolve to different tactile choices. The new landscape will be largely rainforest, and the new camos for vehicles and weapons will reflect the biome of choice on Tanoa. This is the first time Arma has gone to the Pacific for inspiration in their maps and add-ons, which is exciting considering the list of truly diverse instruments of travel being paired with the muddy destination of Tanoa. New vehicles include that of four wheelers, exciting new aerial monstrosities, and a couple of four by fours to go along with the rugged terrain players will face while operating on the island.

The history of Tanoa is one of war and constant struggle. Tanoa is just one puzzle piece to an entire string of islands named ‘The Horizon Islands’. The islands gained their independence shortly after World War 2 but kept their ties to the former French colonists in language and even the countries flag. The modern Tanoa is an island filled with many farmers, fisherman, poor villages, and most coveted of all its precious metal mines and ports. All is well until NATO experiences turbulence in the region due to a formation of gangsters named the ‘syndicate’ who sprung from the chaos of the Island’s terrible hurricanes, things only get worse when CSAT appears to cause even more trouble. No side is completely innocent in the matters leading to the war on the islands. CSAT forces try to gain a foothold on Tanoa to expand their reach and help the Syndicate to thrive as well. The NATO coalition doesnรข€™t keep things peaceful though, using strong demonstrations of military might to scare off any would-be attackers. This all springs into the new addition to Arma 3 and the content formed around this will help players conquer these threats, or make the enemy squads a lot harder to take down.
