Beyond Flesh And Blood Coming To EGX
Â
Â
Recently we have seen an amazing number of indie titles appearing on the radar for Xbox One, and Beyond Flesh and Blood is just one of those titles. In development by Pixel Bomb Games formed in 2011, who are made up of seasoned veterans and fresh blood to the industry. Beyond Flesh And Blood is their first title and has also been Greenlit on Steam. As of yet I havenât been able to get any hands on time with the game, but that will change at EGX where I hope to try it out for the first time. Looking at the videos, most of which are captured Pre-Alpha, it looks like a cross between Transformers and Gears Of War. Set in a war torn and ravaged Manchester of all places! Of all the conjured up worlds we have waged war on over the years it will be a nice change to destroy something local for a change.
Beyond Flesh And Blood promises tons of action, blood, and gore, with enemies being torn in half. In fact here is a list of what we all have to look forward to from this title,
Â
- Gory over the top action: people being ripped in half, dismemberment, explosions, and general chaos on the battlefield.
- Detailed environments: reimagined Manchester playscapes, making full use of the graphical power of the Xbox One and PS4.
- Mech in Mech: the player pilots multiple combat rigs including rebel mechs, UGRÂ mechs, and a giant mech at the end of the game.
- The player cannot die: players remotely pilot a combat frame, so once a frame is destroyed a new one is dropped in from orbit allowing the player to get straight back into the fight (score will be affected for dying).
- Not a cover-based shooter: the game is not about crouching behind a low wall playing whack a mole, it is about using speed and skill to survive.
- No health re-generation (health re-gen): players get their health back by collecting energy spawned by fallen foes forcing the players to fight to survive.
- 5-6 hours story-based game play: act one of a trilogy.
- Wave base survival mode for extended gameplay with leader boards.
- Difficult combat designed to test skill: rather than âhand holding-lyâ easy gameplay mechanics endemic in modern game design (there will however be an easy mode).
- Guns, lots of guns: player guns are upgraded throughout the game and enemy weapons can also be obtained by killing the opponent (acting as a temporary upgrade to augment player firepower).
- 3 factions in the game: The U.G.R, Rebels, & ???? (Last faction yet to be released).
Exciting stuff, so if you want to see what Manchester looks like in 2281, get down to EGX in London between the 25th and 29th September, for blood splattering, mechanised murder on the streets of Manchester. Hopefully we will have a full feature preview soon after. For now take a look at some of the exciting gameplay.
