UK developer Creative Assembly will be presenting the Creative Assembly GameJam on April 8th and 9th as part of EGX Rezzed.
âWe are honoured to be supporting the GameJam once again,â said Creative Assemblyâs Studio Director, Tim Heaton. âCreative Assembly is focused on providing great opportunities to engage with game developers and ensure that nurturing the talent of tomorrow is a priority.
Over the last four years, the GameJam has enabled developers to work together to create some outstanding results and I have no doubt that this year will generate yet more exciting projects and highlight some of the top talent on the UK development scene.â
âWeâre delighted to see the Creative Assembly GameJam return to EGX Rezzed for the fourth consecutive year,â said EGX Rezzed Event Director, Matt Styles. âOver the years it has demonstrated that anything is possible in game development, providing inspiration to both participants and attendees.â
As both Heaton and Styles mentioned, this will be the fourth year GameJam has been featured at EGX Rezzed, and will be presented as part of the GamesIndustry.biz Career Fair on Friday, April 8th. The teams will develop their own game during the Jam, and will present their finished projects to a panel of industry judges during the Developer Session on Saturday, April 9th. You can watch the session live via EGX YouTube channel. The winning team will be able to claim a prize, which will be announced closer to the date of the GameJam.
Spilt Milk Studiosâ Tango Fiesta is one of the most well known success stories to come out of GameJam. The game grew out of early development from the EGX Rezzed 2013 GameJam, going on to secure publishing support and was eventually released for both PC and Mac during EGX 2015.
The host of GameJam, developer Creative Assembly, was established in 1987 and has been one of the most influential and established developers in the UK. They have received many industry and consumer awards, and are the creator of their well-known strategy series, Total War.
EGX Rezzed 2016 will be taking place at Londonâs Tobacco Dock from April 7th-9th. Thereâll be over 160 playable games on the show floor for people to check out, as well as a schedule filled with panel sessions and presentations from some big names in game development, as well as an opportunity for attendees to demo some cutting-edge VR technology. If youâre interested in attending, tickets are still available at https://www.egx.net/rezzed/tickets, so pick them up while you still can.
