When:
Coming just a couple of weeks after the closed beta, the DOOM open beta is set to launch Friday, April 15th at 12:00 am EST (5:00 am GMT) and run until 11:59 pm EST Sunday, April 17th. The beta is available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
Â
What:
Â
- Two modes: Team Deathmatch and Warpath. Deathmatch is the classical style we all know. Warpath consists a particular zone your team must hold control over for a given amount of time; the only catch is that this zone continually moves throughout the game. Both these modes are conducted in a 6 vs. 6 manner
- Two maps: Heatwave and Infernal. Heatwave takes place in the UAC facilities and is the level most prominently displayed in pictures. Infernal takes place in hell, because why not?
- Eight weapons, three loadouts (sniper, assault, heavy).
- Hack modules and cosmetics are available via drops within the game. Modules are like the burn cards in Titanfall, yet not as powerful. They are different from the cards mentioned above in that they continue even through death while on a timer. The only downside is that they are not quite as powerful as the Titanfall burn cards.
- Youâll be able to try out one of the playable demons with The Revenant, which is supposedly a very powerful (perhaps unfairly so) means to winning.
What is available in this beta is pretty much pound for pound the exact amount of content that we available for the closed beta. Whether or not any of the balancing issues reported from the closed beta are resolved here has not be stated. F
