New Features for Samurai Warriors 4 Empires Revealed | MOUSE n JOYPAD

Koei Tecmo America have just announced new info on the new Character Substitution, Castle Customization features in their upcoming strategy game, Samurai Warriors 4 Empires.

The former of the two features, Character Substitution, is essentially allows players to customize nearly every aspect of their character’s abilities and appearance. The press release from Koei Tecmo gives more details as to what you can modify:

“Character Substitution is one of the most exciting new features to debut in Samurai Warriors 4 Empires. Players will be able to fully create and customize their playable character’s appearance, political proclivities, and move sets, as well as personalized family crests, Musou kanji, and portraits. Player-created characters will be fully immersed in the drama of the era, taking part in the lives of historical figures (either as friends or foes). Players will also be able to swap a historical character with a custom character in unlocked cutscenes, allowing for a more customized experience.”

The latter of the two features, Castle Customization, allows players to customize their castles to their liking. Here are the details from the press release:

“To add to the level of customization in Samurai Warriors 4 Empires, developer Omega Force has implemented a brand new Castle Customization feature, allowing players to build a Castle to their specifications as well as decorate it with unlockable decorative wallpapers, or with banners that can be collected by completing missions. These banners often offer extra bonuses, such as increased income, supplies, commerce, and fame.”

Koei Tecmo also released two gameplay videos detailing both features, which you can watch below the article.

In the final part of the press release, the publisher also talked about in-game Facilities, which is detailed below:

“When ruling over a territory that has one or more Facilities, a number of related policies become available. This means that it is not just a matter of which clans are defeated, but also where they are based and what resources they can add to the player’s fief. A few examples of these Facilities include the economy-boosting Mines, the Trading Post, the army-upgrading Gunsmith (which allows for riflemen), Horse Farms (which allows for mounted units), the espionage-instigating Ninja Village (which enables Assassination missions), and the more invigorating Hot Springs, among many others. The clever use and acquisition of these Facilities gives players a competitive edge in their quest to either rule or unite Japan, and can be used to bestow great tactical and strategic advantages.”

Samurai Warriors 4 Empires is set to release in Europe on March 11, 2016, and in North America on March 15 for the PS4. It will also be available digitally for the PS3 and PS Vita.
