Halo ODST Drops on Xbox One

After a mistaken date of May 29th was spotted on the Xbox One Marketplace, Microsoft said that Halo ODST, the newest edition to Halo: The Master Chief Collection was still being tested. It seems the announcement that the date was wrong, which lead people to believe that there would be a long wait, was unfounded. Well we have good news for all Halo fans. Since Saturday morning Microsoft have been messaging users that are eligible for the free update (due to the original networking and multiplayer issues on the game’s launch) via the Xbox messaging system with a redeemable code to get Halo ODST.

If you have played Halo MCC prior to December 19th 2014 you should get on and check your inbox ASAP. Halo: The Master Chief Collection includes remastered versions of Halo Combat Evolved, Halo 2 Anniversary, a scaled up Halo 3 and Halo 4. This new addition fleshes out the collection with the only noted absence being Halo Reach (which of course did not include The Master Chief: John 117). Halo ODST runs at 60 frames per second at 1080p.

At the moment the download only seems to be available for those who were affected by the launch issues and there is no registered price for the add on as a standalone. To go with this code, there is also an update for Halo MCC that players will need to download in order to play. Anyone who pre ordered Halo The Master Chief Edition or bought it on launch should keep a close eye on their Xbox inbox and get ready to finish the fight.
