Assassin’s Creed Syndicate Story Trailer

Assassin’s Creed Syndicate Story Trailer
Assassin’s Creed has been getting some flack after the release of AC: Unity, though it is fair that people should be sceptical about Syndicate, most people have completely written the series off. To those people I say “Watch this motherf#*=ing trailer!”
While there has been heaps and heaps of info on the gameplay and the characters of Syndicate, there hasn’t been so much on the story other than snippets. The new trailer finally tells you what the characters are fighting for and even better, who they’re fighting against.
It starts like most Ubisoft trailers with a sombre tone that is quickly interrupted by a gunshot followed by the unveiling of the main antagonist, a mister Crawford Starrick.
You also meet his henchmen throughout the trailer and are given details on who they are along with what they do. First you have Rupert Ferris who is titled as “The Exploitative Industrialist” followed by a Miss Pearl Attaway “The Greedy Tycoon,” the next one you meet is probably my favourite one (from a glance) is a Doctor John Elliotson “The Negligent Doctor,” who is paired with David Brewster “The Mad Scientist” which is a match made in heaven. These two are rushed through unceremoniously as Phillip Twopenny as “The Bankroller” and James Brudenell “The Corrupt Politician.” The final target shown is Maxwell Roth “The Treacherous Gangster” who is reffered to by Evie as “London’s criminal mastermind.” All these people above are Templars if it wasn’t obvious enough but this is a new approach because we know ahead of time who the targets are now whereas in earlier games it was something you find out along the way.
This trailer also gives you insight into the characters you’ll be controlling. Evie is presented as the more traditional assassin; tactical, patient and smart while Jacob is brash, aggressive and oh so awesome. Best quote from the trailer:
Jacob: “I’m here to see mister Roth.”
Guard: “Weapons?”
Jacob: “No thank you, I’ve got my own.”
The rest of the trailer is gameplay mixed with story snippets in the standard Ubisoft trailer style but it still works. If there is one thing Ubisoft knows how to do, it’s trailers. I’ve always been a fan of the series and was already excited for Syndicate but now I’m bursting like I’m trying to hold in my piss. If this trailer doesn’t get you excited for the next Assassin’s Creed game then I don’t know what will. Stay tuned to Mouse n Joypad for more news on Assassin’s Creed Syndicate as it happens.
